Who you'll be working with
I'm a Counsellor and Coach specializing in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD or ADD) and relationships. When I was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I thought,
This would have been nice to know when I was younger!
People with ADHD often feel alienated from the rest of the world because our issues can be uniquely challenging. Knowing how my brain worked differently helped me to learn how to function better in work, school, and in relationships.
During my 13 years of experience in the mental health field, I managed a Distress Centre where I trained volunteer and staff responders to support people in distress and crisis. I led the successful pilot launch for the Ontario Text and Crisis Service which responds to people in crisis through text and online support. It was a rewarding role that inspired me to continue my education to broaden my understanding of human psychology.
I have a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I originally studied Gender and International Development, as well as a 600-hour human sexuality coaching certification and my AACC designation (ADHD & Asperger's/ASD Coaching Certification). I love working as a therapist for fellow “Tiggers” (ADHDers) and have been in private practice for seven years.
